Selected works for “Passages”

Studio Art Quilt Associates Regional Exhibition Passages

Nebraska SAQA reports that juror Cindy Erickson has selected the art works for their Passages show. This show will have its premiere in April, 2017 in the Beaver Terrace Gallery at the IQSC in Lincoln Nebraska and will include works from 15 different artists from Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and California. The selected artists each identify Nebraska as their primary or secondary region.

The artists and works are:

Jo Alberda – Coming Through

Rhonda Baldwin – Portal

Gail Dickel – Avalanche Lake Trail

LaVonne Dunnetts  -Transitions

MaryKay Fosnacht – Straight of Georgia From Thetis Island

Karen Hansenb- Just Passin’ Through

Jane Haworth -Bon Voyage

Dorothy Heideman-Nelson – My Grandmother

Dorothy Heideman-Nelson – The Street Where I Live

Debo Hysack Estuary – Passage

Cynthia Levis – Senior

Wendy Maliszewski – Snapshots of a Life

Peg Pennell – Fire

Marilyn Rembolt – Sisters: Six Generations

Chris Taylor – Earth

Dianne Thomas – First Beginnings


Works in this show are expected to travel until December 2018. Further information about additional gallery shows can be obtained from Cynthia Levis at It will also be posted in the Nebraska SAQA website as it becomes available.

Congratulations to those who had work accepted into the exhibition!

Here is the note included with the announcements. Cindy Erickson replaced fellow SAQA member Pat Kroth who had scheduling conflicts.

“Juror Erickson has chosen a strong, colorful show corresponding to the abstract and representational sides of the Passages theme. Using the blind jury process, she was free to choose what she felt best illustrated a cohesive show under the Call for Entry (“CFE”) parameters. She said it was difficult to limit the show to 17 works due to gallery size and image quality”
